358 Modifieds Set for Historic Return to The Dirt Track at Genesee in 2026
BATAVIA, NY — As the 2026 racing season approaches, excitement continues to build at The Dirt Track at Genesee with the long-awaited return of the 358 Modifieds. The division will compete at the facility for the first time since June 23, 2007, when Tim Jones captured the victory in the Lucas Oil Shoot-Out.
The 358 Modifieds will appear four times during the 2026 season:
May 23 — Memorial Day Weekend
June 20
July 11
August 15
Local standout Phil Vigneri shared his thoughts on the division’s return to his home track.
“It’s really cool. We’ve always hoped we would have a few more Modified shows at Batavia, and to see them back is really special. To be a part of it makes it even better,” said Vigneri.
When asked what he hopes to see this season, Vigneri emphasized the depth of competition.
“I hope to see a great turnout. The class is so deep with talent. The big names get most of the attention, but if you look at places like Ransomville, positions fourth through tenth are filled with quality drivers. On any given night, you can expect 10 to 12 drivers capable of winning.”
In addition to the return of the 358 Modifieds, fans can look forward to a major night of racing on August 6, featuring the Big Block/Small Block Challenge, paying $4,000 to win. The evening will also include the highly anticipated Kyle Inman Tribute Race, making it one of the marquee events of the 2026 season.
Fans are encouraged to stay tuned to official Genesee track social media channels for additional announcements, event details, and schedule updates as the season approaches.
