Genesee Kartway Crowns 2025 Season Champions After Exciting Return
Batavia, NY — After a two-year hiatus, Genesee Kartway made a highly anticipated return in 2025 under the direction of James and Nicole Gayton. From June 13 through August 29, the Kartway hosted ten point races that brought back the excitement of grassroots karting for drivers, families, and fans alike.
The Extreme Budget Predator class was the largest of the season, attracting 24 different drivers. Kenmore’s Jack Freeman earned the championship with consistent finishes, including feature wins on June 13 and June 18, five top-fives, and three heat victories. Rochester’s David Covert finished second in points with three top-fives and eight top-ten finishes, while Elba’s “Kid Kool” David Pangrazio rounded out the top three with three feature wins, seven top-three finishes, and four heat wins.
In the Novice division for ages 5–8, Batavia’s Xavier Cook and Kensley Martinez battled all season long. Cook secured the championship with feature wins on June 18, August 1, and August 29, as well as three heat race wins. Martinez finished a strong second with six feature wins and three heat wins.

Amherst’s Ryan Maher put together one of the most dominant campaigns in Genesee Kartway history in the Junior 2 division. Maher won every race he entered but one, clinching the championship, and even stepped up to Junior 3 for the final three weeks, where he won all three events.
The Junior 3 championship went to Dale’s Chase Powers, who scored four feature wins in his farewell season before moving on to the Bandit division at the big track. Albion’s Olivia Barry finished second in Junior 3 points with two victories, including one on July 2 and another during the fair on July 22.
In the Senior Lite division, East Pembroke’s Paige Gayton claimed the championship on the strength of three victories and nine runner-up finishes. Albion’s Matthew Barry finished second with three wins and multiple heat race victories. Barry also secured the Senior Heavy championship with three wins and six runner-up finishes. Wyoming’s Josh Nearhood finished second with five top-three results, while Alexander’s Jeremiah Salami took third with seven top-five finishes.
The return season at Genesee Kartway was a tremendous success, thanks to the dedication of staff, drivers, and families who brought life back to the track.
