The Dirt Track at Genesee Hosts Big Block/Small Block Challenge and Kyle Inman Tribute on August 7th

The Dirt Track at Genesee is revving up for a monumental night of racing on Thursday, August 7th, as two prestigious events take center stage. The Big Block/Small Block Challenge and the Kyle Inman Tribute race promise to deliver non-stop action, with top drivers vying for significant payouts.

The Big Block/Small Block Challenge, which kicks off at 7:00 pm, boasts a staggering $4,000 winner's purse. Erick Rudolph swept both races at The Dirt Track last season, and local favorite Phil Vigneri III is eager to take on the competition. "For me, the only pressure comes from the fact that there are limited chances to win these Genesee BB/SB races," Vigneri III shared in an exclusive interview. "We only get 1 or 2 a year. Between mine and my family's history with both the speedway and the sport as a whole, winning a Big Block race at Genesee is probably at the top of my bucket list in racing. We came so close last year. So, while the extra money is a great bonus, getting a legacy win like this would mean a lot to a lot of people in my camp."

In addition to the Big Block/Small Block Challenge, The Dirt Track at Genesee and Freedom Motorsports Park are joining forces for a highly anticipated 2-race mini-series. This exciting partnership will see the top 3 finishers share a lucrative $2,000 purse, with a breakdown of $1,000 for 1st place, $600 for 2nd, and $400 for 3rd. The first installment of this mini-series is slated to take place at Freedom Motorsports Park on Wednesday, June 25th, setting the stage for a showdown between top drivers from the region.

The Kyle Inman Tribute race returns for its third year, honoring the memory of a beloved competitor. This 30-lap event offers a $2,000 winner's purse, attracting top talent from the region. Cameron Tuttle won the inaugural race in 2023 at Genesee Speedway, while Dave Conant took the top spot last year at Ransomville Speedway.

Vigneri III reflected on the significance of the Kyle Inman Tribute, saying, "It would mean a lot to win a big race like this. Kyle was a great competitor; we had a friendly rivalry for a number of years, and we always had to be at the top of our game to compete against him. I expect a big field that night, so we will have to be at the top of our game again to have a chance."

Race promotor Matt Steffenhagen expressed his gratitude for the local racing community's support of the Kyle Inman Tribute. "All of the drivers, even guys Kyle was a tough competitor with, have been a big support of this race, as well as all of his fans and family," Steffenhagen noted. "Kyle was all about racing at his local track and bringing any kind of better-paying or bigger race to town; someone who was such a big part of the weekly racing scene at Genesee should be remembered by more than just having his name on the wall of champions. I'm hoping that as the years go on, this is one that racers have circled on their schedule as an event win, they want to add their name to."

With two major events on the docket, August 7th promises to be an unforgettable night at The Dirt Track at Genesee. Don't miss the opportunity to witness top-notch racing talent battle it out for prestigious wins and significant payouts. Gates open at 5:00 pm, with racing action beginning at 7:00 pm. Be there to experience the thrill of the Big Block/Small Block Challenge and the Kyle Inman Tribute!
